Passenger ferry carrying more than 108 passengers where 19 are children from the port of Sulawesi Indonesia, is missing after giving a distress signal and fighting high winds and treacherous seas last afternoon of December 19, 2015.
The ship Marina Baru is set to dock on the city of Siwa, according to ManadoKota.com. All connection with the port authorities was lost after the vessel’s engine broke down.

Accidents in their ferry services are common as this is one of the main transportation of Indonesians living in more than 17,000 islands in the archipelago.
Last Wednesday, a cargo ship carrying 6 Filipino crewmen sank in the coast off Batam Island after a collision with a chemical tanker.
